E*OFFICE
Owner of the Year
The E*OFFICE Owner of the Year award is
the highest honor an owner can receive from participating in the E*OFFICE
family of leagues. The Owner of the Year award is given to those individuals
that have had an incredible year, or string of years, in the E*OFFICE fantasy
football leagues. Below is a comprehensive list of all E*OFFICE Owner of the
Year recipients, and an explanation of why they were chosen. Congratulations to
all the past winners.
E*OFFICE Owner of the Year, 1999
Rodney "Big Country" Smith
Rodney has been in fantasy football longer than all but two of the current E*OFFICE owners, and in 1999, he showed that he is a truly great owner. Rodney participated in the Four Star, Independence, and Masters league, in 1999. Rodney's Bogard Creek Crawdads finished second in total points in the Independence league, by less than 70 points. Rodney's Irving Sleestak scored the most points four different weeks as an expansion team, in the Four Star league. He finished the year with a top-four finish, becoming the second expansion team to ever take home some prize money. Rodney put the final jewel in his crown in 1999, by winning the inaugural season in the Masters league. Rodney won 1st and 2nd in the Masters league. By winning the Masters league, Rodney also won the title of "Master of Fantasy Football".
E*OFFICE Owner of the Year, 2000
Mike Isaacs
Mike Isaacs joined the E*OFFICE in 1999, by taking over the reins of the last place team in the Independence League, from 1998. He took that team from last to first in 1999. Then, in 2000, Mike won his second straight Independence league title. On the way to his back-to-back titles, Mike flirted with making E*OFFICE history. No team has ever went undefeated in any E*OFFICE league, but Mike went undefeated the longest. Mike started the 2000 season with 12 straight victories.
E*OFFICE Owner of the Year, 2001
Jennifer Kuchar
Jennifer was one of the four founders of the E*OFFICE fantasy football league, in 1996. Jennifer has finished in the money many times, but this year she took the big jump from good team to dominate franchise. Jennifer made history in 2001. She became the 6th different owner to capture an E*OFFICE fantasy football championship, the 2nd owner to win two leagues in the same year, and the 1st female ever to win an E*OFFICE fantasy football championship. Jennifer won the Four Star league with a 13-4 record. Jennifer won 1st and 2nd place in the Masters league, which grants her the title of "Master of Fantasy Football".
E*OFFICE Owner of the Year, 2002
Paul Kuchar
Paul Kuchar has accomplished the first ever E*OFFICE triple crown by winning the Masters League, the Four Star League, and the Independence League in the same year. There have been a total of sixteen E*OFFICE fantasy seasons. Out of those sixteen fantasy seasons Paul has scored the most total points in a league ten different times and won eight championships. No other owner has more than two championships. Paul also holds the record for the most points scored in a season for all three E*OFFICE leagues. For winning the Masters League Paul has also earned the title of "Master of Fantasy Football".
E*OFFICE Owner of the Year, 2003
Paul Kuchar
Paul Kuchar won all three E*OFFICE leagues for a second straight year. Paul now owns eleven out of nineteen league championships. Paul owns the top two scoring years in Masters, the top two scoring years in Independence, and the top four scoring years in Four Star. Paul has also finished the season with the most points twelve out of nineteen times across the three leagues. Finally, by winning the Masters League Paul retains the title of, "Master of Fantasy Football".
E*OFFICE Owner of the Year, 2004
Paul Kuchar
Paul had a bit of a down year compared to the last two seasons. Paul finished 3rd in points in the Four Star League and finished in the money for the 9th straight season while failing to win the league for only the third time in nine years. Paul won the Independence league for his thrid straight year. Paul scored 251 more points than the second-highest-scoring team on the way to winning the league by 5 games. The Masters League was dominated by Paul for a third straight year. He set a new high point total for the third straight year and scored 450 more points than the second best team. Finally, by winning the Masters League Paul retains the title of, "Master of Fantasy Football".
E*OFFICE Owner of the Year, 2005
Paul Kuchar
Paul continued on his amazing streak in 2005 by re-capturing the Four Star Championship, giving him seven out of the first ten titles in that league. The Owosso Thunder also added another 2000+ point total for the year, something Owosso has done four times and the rest of the league has never done. Paul won the Independence League for the fourth straight year, giving him five out of the first eight titles in that league since the merger. The New England Liberty topped the 2000 point mark for the fifth time in League history, something only accomplished one previous time, by Matt Kellems. Paul won the Masters League this year for a fourth consecutive time, giving him four out of seven titles in the most prestigous league of all. Paul's team topped the 2700 point total four the fourth time, an accomplishment shared only by the Pakistanis and Sholin (one time each). The E*OFFICE has been in operation since 1996 and during that time their have been a total of twenty-five keeper-league championships; Paul has now won sixteen out of those twenty-five and nobody else has won more than two times. By winning the Masters League, Paul retains the title of "Master of Fantasy Football" for the fourth consecutive year.
E*OFFICE Owner of the Year, 2006
Matt Kellems
After many years of being on the short-list for this most grand of E*OFFICE accomplishments, Matt Kellems finally breaks through to be the clear-cut winner of this year's Owner of the Year award. Matt led the Independence League and The Masters league in total points in 2006. The Gigolos have finished in the top two for three consecutive years in Independence and back-to-back years in Masters. Matt became just the fourth person in E*OFFICE history to win at least three keeper league championships by capturing The Masters League for a second time. As a result of Matt's Masters League victory Matt also earned the official title of "Master of Fantasy Football".
E*OFFICE Owner of the Year, 2007
Paul Kuchar
Two out of three E*OFFICE league championships went to Paul this year. The Liberty finished second in the Independence League, but finished third in points. In Four Star, the Owosso Thunder captured their eighth title in twleve years by outscoring the second place team by 298 points. But, it was the Masters League where history was made. The Muntucky Mavericks put up the pinball-like total of 3064 points, an average of just over 180 points per week. The next closest team scored over 700 points less than the Mavericks. Paul has now won five out of the last six Masters League titles and in so doing recaptured the title of "Master of Fantasy Football".
E*OFFICE Owner of the Year, 2008
Sheri York
In 2008, Sheri became the third person in E*OFFICE history to capture two keeper leagues in the same year. Sheri captured the Independence League for the first time by outscoring the entire league in total points and winning the tie-breaker with Frogtown. Sheri won her second Four Star Championship in dominating fashion. She scored more total points than any other team, she scored the most points for a week seven times, and she beat the second place team by two wins. There hasn't been a two-game cushion for the Four Star Champion since 2005. Sheri's banner year secures her place as an elite E*OFFICE owner, as she is now one of only four people to win three E*OFFICE championships.
E*OFFICE Owner of the Year, 2009
Jamie Smith
After two Mark Voile's Awards and several near-misses for titles, Jamie puts together a full season and becomes the E*OFFICE Owner of the Year. In a year that provided us with three different league winners Jamie edged out his competitors with his dominant performance in the Masters League. Jamie marched through the Masters League recording 15 wins to go along with just one loss and one tie on his way to an easy victory that was not in doubt for several weeks at the end of the season. Jamie's 2nd place finish in the Four Star League also makes him the only owner to finish in the top two places in two different leagues.
E*OFFICE Owner of the Year, 2010
Jamie Smith
Jamie is now one of two E*OFFICE owners that have won more
than one Owner of the Year title, and he did it in back-to-back years. Jamie won the Masters League for the second
straight year, also a feat accomplishes by just one other person. Jamie ran away with the Masters league with a
comfortable cushion of 141 points. In
Four Star, Jamie only trailed the top-scoring team by 37 points on the way to a
4th place finish. Jamie also finished in
third place in the Independence League to complete his three-way sweep of the
money. It is my opinion that Jamie is as
good an owner as we have in the E*OFFICE.
E*OFFICE Owner of the Year, 2011
Paul Kuchar
This was the closest
call for Owner of the Year in E*OFFICE history.
Jamie Smith was close to winning the honor for a third straight time on
the power of his third straight Masters League title, but he failed to make the
money in Four Star and Independence. Kenny dominated the Independence League
and finished second in points and record in Four Star, but his team is being
re-named for finishing last in points in Masters.
Paul only lost one game on the way to winning the Four Star League and he outscored second place by 145 points. Paul scored the second most points in the Independence League on the way to a second place finish. Paul also scored the second most points in the Masters league.
E*OFFICE Owner of the Year, 2012
Kenny Pankop
After years of struggling to finish
in the money, Kenny has become a regular member of the money club in Four Star
and Independence. Kenny has also been a
nominee for this award for several years in a row and narrowly missed winning
last year. This year we also had three
good nominees with Jamie Smith and Bill Nartker both
having special years in the E*OFFICE.
However, Kenny had the most special year of all. Kenny added 530 points to his Masters league
point total from 2011 transforming his team from doormat to
respectability. In the Independence
League, Kenny outscored everybody else by over 200 total points, even though he
ended up in third place in the standings.
In Four Star, Kenny truly made history.
From 1996 through 2011 (16 years) the original four franchises passed
the Four Star Title among themselves. In 2012, Kenny became the very first
non-original-four franchise to win the Four Star
League. He also led the Four Star league in total points giving him that distinction
in two out of three E*OFFICE keeper-leagues.
What has been obvious for years is now official, Kenny Pankop is one of the elite owners in the E*OFFICE.
E*OFFICE Owner of the Year, 2013
Matthew
Kellems
Mr. Kellems
wins his second Owner of the Year honor in much the same way that he won his
first. Back in 2006 Matt won his first
Owner of the Year title by winning the Masters League and leading the
Independence league in total points.
That is exactly what he did again this year. Matt ran away with the Masters League. He only lost twice along the way and he
outscored the next closest team by over 300 points! He rebounded from a last place finish in 2012
in the Independence League to leading the entire league in total points and
finishing in the money. But, Matt was not done there. Just to make it an obvious choice this year,
he went out and finished 2nd in total points and 2nd place in the standings of
the Four Star League.
Matt has clearly made his claim for being one of the top owners in the
E*OFFICE. With his Masters League
dominance he also earns the prestigious title of "Master of Fantasy
Football". Long live the king.
E*OFFICE Owner of the Year, 2014
Evan
Potter
Evan earns his first-ever E*OFFICE
Owner of the Year award in one of the most competitive years of fantasy
football in E*OFFICE recent history.
Evan entered the E*OFFICE by taking over teams that were abandoned and
he steadily built those teams into winners.
This year, Evan won the Independence League championship, giving him his
second Independence title and third championship overall in the E*OFFICE. Evan
also scored the second most points in the Four Star
league and he finished just out of the money in Masters. As a cherry on top, Evan also won the
Re-Draft league for his 2nd time in three years.
E*OFFICE Owner of the Year, 2015
Jamie
Smith
Jamie has proven himself to be as good
or better at fantasy football dynasty leagues than ANYBODY in the
E*OFFICE. Jamie has now won six of the
last 21 keeper league championships, over the past seven years. Jamie is the only owner in the past seven
years to win at least one championship in all three keeper leagues. This is Jamie's third Owner of the year
award. Only one person currently has
more Owner of the year awards than Jamie.
Jamie did not finish lower than second place in any keeper league in
2015. In Independence, Jamie was a clear
second place. In Four Star, Jamie
finished in second place in the standings, but he would have beat the winner
11-6 in a head-to-head matchup. With
those two strong finishes in the bank, Jamie went out and recaptured the
Masters League title of, "Master of Fantasy Football", for the fourth
time.
E*OFFICE Owner of the Year, 2016
Paul
Kuchar
Paul claims his seventh, "Owner
of the Year", award in 2016, ending (for him) a long five-year absence
from this highest honor. Paul won this
year's distinction by leading The Masters, Independence, and Four Star in total
points. Paul finished 2nd in Four Star
and won both the Independence and The Masters leagues. Paul re-captures the title of "Master of
Fantasy Football" for a sixth time and re-asserts his claim as an elite
E*OFFICE owner.
E*OFFICE Owner of the Year, 2017
Jamie
Smith
Jamie earns his fourth Owner of the
Year title, making him the second most decorated in E*OFFICE history. In 2017, Jamie became the first owner to
claim the title, "Owner of the Year", without winning any of the
leagues. Jamie also won in a year when
we had the most votes for the award ever (14), which adds an extra level of
prestige. In Masters, Jamie also
finished with the best record but not the most total points. Jamie has now finished 1st or 2nd in Masters
for three straight years and he outscored the third highest-scoring team by 250
points. In Independence, Jamie also
scored the second most points on his way to a money finish. In Four Star, Jamie was only outscored by one
single point by a team that went undefeated and he has now claimed Four Star
money for six straight years. Overall,
Jamie scored 221 points more than anybody across the three keeper leagues.
E*OFFICE Owner of the Year, 2018
Jamie
Smith
Jamie grabs his 5th, "Owner of
the Year", award and his second in a row. Jamie currently has the longest
money streak of any E*OFFICE League in Four Star after finishing in the money
for seven straight years, including his third place finish this year. In Masters, Jamie finished 2nd in total
points with the 6th highest total in league history on his way to a 4th place
finish. In the Independence league Jamie
set a new all-time record for total points scored and he became only the second
team in league history to lose only one game on his way to his second
Independence league Championship. Jamie
crushed the competition this year by outscoring the next closest in total
points through the three keeper leagues by 800 points!
E*OFFICE Owner of the Year, 2019
Jamie
Smith
Jamie is now the second person in
E*OFFICE history to win the "Owner of the Year" award three years in
a row, he is the second person in E*OFFICE history to be named "Owner of
the Year" six times, and he is also the second person in E*OFFICE history
to ever win all three leagues in one year.
To put that into context, the person with the third most "Owner of
the Year" awards has a total of two.
Jamie has won this award six out of the 24 years it has been given or
25% of the time. Jamie won the Masters
League for a 5th time earning him the title, "Master of Fantasy
Football" for the upcoming season.
Jamie won the Four Star League for the second
time and he outscored the entire league on his way to doing it. To complete the sweep, Jamie won the
Independence League and he outscored everyone by close to 300 points for his
second win in a row and third Independence win overall.
E*OFFICE Owner of the Year, 2020
Jamie
Smith
Jamie joins the ultra-exclusive club of
owners (2) who have won the Owner of the Year award four years in a row! Jamie is also now tied with the most Owner of
the Year Awards for a career, with seven!
Jamie led three-out-of-four leagues in total points in the covid-ravaged
season and he captured the championships in Masters and Re-Draft. Jamie has now been named, “Master of Fantasy
Football” six times, and now nobody has won the Masters League more times than
him. It has become very clear that Jamie
Smith is the dominate E*OFFICE owner over the past decade. Jamie has won 5-out-of-9 keeper leagues in
the past three years as he puts his stamp on the entire E*OFFICE.
E*OFFICE Owner of the Year, 2021
Evan
Potter
Evan becomes only the fourth person
in E*OFFICE history to have earned two “Owner of the Year” awards, claiming his
place as an elite E*OFFICE owner. Evan
finished third in total points in the Masters League and finished second place
in the Independence League. But it was
his back-to-back championship in Four Star that truly set Evan apart this year. In the long 26-year history of the Four Star
League, only two other owners have won back-to-back championships. This truly was a historic year in the
E*OFFICE for Evan Potter.
